Hallie’s History
Born in rural Illinois, Hallie spent her first few months living under an old trailer, before being rescued by Stephanie Pence. Covered in dirt and with bubblegum matted into her fur, she captured Stephanie’s heart right away, and their amazing journey together began. Hallie was named after a firefighter’s tool, the halligan bar, a tool for forced entry, and Hallie certainly forced her way into everyone’s heart.
After a couple of years of being spoiled, Hallie found herself as the CEO (Canine Executive Officer) and namesake of Hallie Hound Barkery. Her job duties included taste-testing and quality control along with duties as the public face of the business. Two more staff, her brothers, Guido and Roudy, were later adopted and assisted in Hallie’s treat sampling efforts. Eventually, the pack grew as Kaya, Dante, and Sam also joined in on the venture.
Hallie never met a stranger she didn’t love, granted she would introduce herself with her deep bellowing bay, just to make sure she had everyone’s attention. She loved hanging out at festivals and events like the Covered Bridge Festival and Bark in the Park. Hallie was always ready for a car ride, knowing that each ride always included treats. She was a lover of fluffy pillows, soft blankets, hoodies, and squeaks.
In her later years, Hallie became a big sister to her first human sibling, Mara. The two were perfect partners in crime. They shared many meals, lots of playtime, and countless snuggles.
Hallie’s snores, barks, kisses, and cold nose will be greatly missed but her memory will live on in the hearts of her people and her legacy will continue in every treat enjoyed by pups across the country.
